I went to The Union Emergency Dept. 12/21/2017 with extreme pain in my legs combined with sores. Most likely an allergic reaction to a blood thinner. After an hour of sitting in one of the patient room no one made any effort to help me or diagnose my pain. I finally said I would have to go somewhere else and was told to have a nice day. I am now at Aultman getting proper treatment
I've been dealing with an ear infection in my daughters ears with tubes in it for over 3 weeks and dealing with her ENT that has given me little to no answers. Thanks to Dr. Allison and the nurses, they took the time to listen to my problems and ran some tests and I now have a better answer than what I've been getting. Thank you guys so much.
We love Union hospital but while my wife was admitted Dr Chismar came to see her. He lacks in bedside manner and seemed bothered to be there. While talking to her he was very degrading, rude and condescending. She was discharged after 2 nights of being there with no answers and still in pain. She was told her excessive vaginal bleeding and abdominal was all "in her head". After signing her discharged papers she sat for waiting 30 minutes to never get her papers while the floor nurses talked about their grandkids. She ended up walking herself down to the lobby where I picked her up.
Poor service. Never diagnosed correctly. Broken bones set incorrectly from the ER and cost us more money to fix. More concerned about getting you out than actually seeing what's wrong. I've never had a good experience personally. However, there are some doctors that I would give 5 stars, but they have to go through union due to high insurance prices. I would never recommend union hospital itself though.
Staff was nice and helpful but it's obvious this Hospital is way under staffed with not enough Doctors. I sat in the emergency room for over three hours and never got in to see a Doctor...very sad. It's no wonder this hospital is being sold to the Cleveland Clinic..maybe then you will experience a hospital emergency room that will be staffed with enough Doctors to treat people when they come in and need medical attention. Well off to a Urgent care to help me with what may be a infected spider bite that looks very similar to a Brown Recluse bite. Wish me luck because Union Hospital sure didn't give me any.
I have had excellent treatment in the past at Union, but now I am Leary as to whether I will return.
